That’s indeed a mouthful! But it does describe the vital work our Strategic Planning Committee has been doing on behalf of St. Mary School. Thus far, the committee has assessed the school’s history, strengths, challenges, and future. They have examined opportunities, threats, changing demographics and outlined the following goals for St. Mary School: (not in order of importance)

Catholic Identity
St. Mary School will maintain and enhance a strong Catholic presence within the parish.

Curriculum
St. Mary School will exceed the Sacramento Diocesan Curriculum Standards in all subject areas with emphasis on integrating religion and technology throughout the curriculum.

Staffing
St. Mary School will retain and attract the best qualified staff and credentialed teachers.

Finances
St. Mary School will work collaboratively with the parish to establish and implement a financial strategy that allows the school to mitigate the difference between affordable tuition and the actual cost per child, while retaining and improving the infrastructure of the school facility.

School in the Community
St. Mary School will promote and improve integration activities with the parish to increase the awareness and appreciation of the educational ministry of the school.

Enrollment
St. Mary School will sustain healthy enrollment while maintaining teacher/student ratio to provide the highest quality Catholic education.

Development
St. Mary School will develop long-term alternative funding to mitigate cost of tuition (e.g. annual fundraisers, grants, endowments) and expand capital investment projects.

Ownership/Governance
St. Mary School will maintain an appropriate governance structure to promote and implement the strategic plan.
