Rainbows for all of God's Children

When children experience the loss of a loved one, a divorce, or conflict in the household, they may feel alone as they try to sort through complex emotions and thoughts. Rainbows for All Gods Children helps kids support each other through difficult times.

The twelve-week program is a facilitated support group for children, preschool through eighth grade, who are living in single parent or stepfamily homes, and who are struggling with family problems like death, divorce or loss. Children may find it difficult to verbalize their feelings around these problems. We have sensitive, caring, trained adults who help children put these feelings into words, work with their grief, build a stronger sense of self-esteem, and begin to accept what has taken place in the family.

Rainbows for All Gods Children provides an opportunity for children to share with a special someone on the outside, and with their peers, what is happening on the inside. And it provides an opportunity for kids to know that others may be going through similar experiences.

Once a week the children come together to discuss topics like trust, anger, family and God. Children share their feelings through activities, games and discussions. At the beginning of each session everyone is reminded about confidentiality – “What happens in the group stays in the group.”

This wonderful program assists children in expressing and understanding their feelings, and helps them feel as sense of belonging and love.

If you would like your child to be a part of this group, please contact the school office. A new session will begin in September.
