The St. Mary School Student Council affords students an opportunity to develop leadership skills and provide service to the school, parish and community. These student leaders sponsor activities throughout the school year, such as spirit rallies and the school newspaper which promote school spirit and unity. They lead efforts to raise funds for charitable causes, and keep the student body informed of upcoming activities. Our entire student body has a hands-on civics lesson when elections are held each spring. The electoral process includes an informational kick-off assembly, campaigning, speeches and finally a primary and general election. Officers assume their full duties in the Fall Semester. Each classroom also elects two representatives to Student Government. Student Council meetings are held every other week. Representatives attend one meeting per month Congratulations to the newly-elected Student Council officers for the 2005-2006 school year!
