Blue & Gold - 05/12/08
Mother's Day Prayer

God of Love, we thank you for the gift of those who mother us.

God of Sarah, Rachel, Rebekah, and Ruth; God of Elizabeth, mother of John, God of Mary, mother of Jesus, send your Holy Sprit, and bless our mothers, grandmothers, Godmothers, stepmothers, mothers-in-law, indeed, all who mother us. Bless them today, now, in this lifetime with good things, with health, joy, love, laughter, and pride in their children.

And when at last they leave our embrace for yours, bless them with a place of honor at your eternal banquet table. The blessing and all graces we pray descend upon the mothers of our school community. In the name of the God who brings us to birth, through Jesus Christ, and with the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

Sacramento Life Center news

Our Lenten baby Bottle Project was once again, a huge success!

Dear St, Mary's Community,

"On behalf of the Sacramento Life Center, I want to thank you for participating in our annual Baby Bottle Project.  Students at St. Mary's School collected $3544.50!  Together, with 25 other schools and churches, you collectively raised over $42,000 for us!"

"The Baby Bottle Project is our second largest fundraiser.  Your coordinating efforts, along with the money raised by your students and their families, enables the Life Center to continue offering professional, confidential, compassionate counseling, support and resources, at no cost, to our clients." . . .

Blessings and thanks,

Colleen Branagan and Lina Lloyd

Grandparents'/Special Friends' Celebration a Great Success!

Over 375 grandparents/special friends joined us last Friday for a wonderful breakfast, activity time with their special child(ren), and Liturgy.  The day's events and the schedule were changed a bit from the past celebrations.  Please e-mail Ms. Allen with what your family thought about the day.  We already have some plans for next year regarding time frames for activities etc., but your assistance would be very helpful.

Congratulations Second Graders!

Congratulations to our 2nd graders for making their First Communion last Saturday!  Thanks too to Mrs. Riehl and Mrs. Ellis for preparing them so well.

Buddy Families

Thank you to all of you that volunteered to be a Buddy Family for next year's new families.  We still have two families with no Buddy Family.  This is really not a difficult thing . . .just make two or three calls throughout the year to check on them to see if they have any questions . . .please call Mrs. Becker at extension 12 if you can help.

Are You Checking the Web Page?

Please be sure that you are getting in the habit of checking our school webpage often!  We're headed in that direction; so don't get left out of the loop!  Remember, blue and gold make green!
